Kestner has always been very active in the treatment of effluents. Our experience in this domain covers almost all industrial sectors:
- Alumina Industry: elimination of the sodium carbonate from the Bayer liquor, salting-out and liquor-burning high concentration evaporators.
Base chemicals industries: recovery of salts such as NaCl, Na2SO4, etc … from organic synthesis, recovery and purification of acidic synthesis effluents such as HCl, H2SO4.
- Energy: zero discharge evaporative crystallisers for cooling towers blowdowns.
- Nuclear: concentration of radwastes effluents
- Environment: concentration to dryness of incinerators liquid purges, recovery of valuable chemicals from reaction effluents.
- Fertilisers’ production: ammonium nitrate residual condensates treatment, recovery of HNO3 in effluents, recovery of H2SiF6 from phosphoric acid concentration units.
- Food industries: citric acid effluents concentration and up-grading, sulphuric acid concentration from ethanol production plants, elimination of inorganic chemicals from specific wastes, food grade phosphoric acid.
- Mines and metallurgy: HCl recovery from various processes, from pickling liquors with or without recovery of valuable chemicals, and from non ferrous metallurgical units, HCl or H2SO4 recovery from pickling liquors, concentration of AlCl3 from metallurgical wastes.
- Pulp & paper: black liquor concentration before burning, bleaching effluents concentration and up-grading, stripping of process condensates, recovery of Na2SO4 from incineration residues.
- Textiles: waste H2SO4 concentration, NaSCN concentration, NaCl and Na2SO4 recovery by crystallisation.
